Odin Runes Collection
This version of the Odin stone was created by Scottish jewellery designer Teresa Shearer. The original Odin Stone, erected around 3000 BC, stood near to the Stones of Steness until 1814. It was destroyed by an irate farmer who took great exception to visiting couples upholding the ancient Orkney tradition of joining hands through the hole in the stone and pledging eternal faithfulness to each other. No one knows the true purpose of these ancient stones that continue to hold their secreats over the millennia.
